Acers, or maples, are deciduous shrubs and trees, cultivated commonly for their attractive foliage -- and particularly their autumn colour. They are also commonly used to provide for shade and in windbreaks. Some taller species provide timber and maple syrup. In this course, you will learn to develop your knowledge in classification, identification and culture of plants in the genus Acer.
